‘T.Rextasy Unplugged’ brings you the songs of Marc Bolan played acoustically and sung by Danielz (lead singer and lead guitarist with the world’s only official tribute band to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, that is T.Rextasy), accompanied by John Skelton (drummer with T.Rextasy) on congas and percussion. Tracks that many would have heard the band play electrically over the years, take on a new dimension, giving the audience and musicians a more intimate and relaxed approach to the evening.
All the well known hits such as ‘20th Century Boy’, ‘Get It On’, Metal Guru, and ‘Jeepster’, and many others, together with a few choice album cuts and ‘b’ sides, are played strictly with acoustic guitars, together with congas, bongos, and percussion.
Danielz and John have an album entitled ‘A Dream That Lasts Forever – T.Rextasy Unplugged’, that is currently available on the Madman Records label featuring 12 tracks of Bolan’s music played acoustically, together with a couple of songs originally penned by Danielz.
Every ‘T.Rextasy Unplugged’ gig is a unique event as Danielz & John only play ‘Unplugged’ around 6 or 7 times a year, being that their time is mostly taken up throughout the year with the whole band. In the summer of 2011 they stormed the ‘Acoustic Festival of Britain’ in Uttoxeter, while earlier they played a corporate gig for the chart topping ‘Go West’ producer in front of various stars such as Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet). Of course, T.Rextasy themselves are used to playing alongside various contemporaries such as Slade, Roy Wood, Bay City Rollers, Cockney Rebel, The Sweet, Boy George, Marc Almond, and Alvin Stardust, Tony Visconti, and many, many others.
As ‘T.Rextasy Unplugged’, they were invited back to the ‘Acoustic Festival of Britain’ in 2012 and yet again stormed their way through their set, obtaining front page reviews, overshadowing their headlining acts!
Two years ago, T.Rextasy Unplugged played to a full house at The Quay Theatre in Sudbury and hopefully that experience can be repeated again on Saturday 27 October 2013!
