The GFAB play a combination of original songs and selected covers in the contemporary acoustic/folk/Americana/blues idiom.
Gary Fletcher was a founding and continuing member of The Blues Band along with Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness and Dave Kelly and continues to tour with the band. He has played with Van Morrison, Zoot Money, Maggie Bell and played and recorded with Peter Green, Long John Baldry, Nat Adderley, Guy Barker, Bernie Marsden and many others.
Alan Glen has been a member of The Yardbirds, Nine Below Zero, Little Axe and The Barcodes amongst several others and has recorded with Jeff Beck, Steve Lukather, Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter and many other top musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. He remains in high demand for both live work and recording.
Tom Leary’s electric violin brings an element to the blues previously explored by John Mayall’s collaborations with Sugar Cane Harris. Ex Lindisfarne and a current member of Feast of Fiddles together with Dave Mattacks, Phil Beer, Peter Knight and the rest of the 11 piece band, Tom has played with many luminaries of the British roots scene including John B Spencer Trio (with Graeme Taylor), Steve Gibbons, Phil Bates Trio (ELO), Little Johnny England, Tanna and Zeus with Dave Lambert of The Strawbs, Graeme Taylor and Jon Davie of Gryphon.
This combination of guitar, violin and harmonica offers a lightness of touch to the material which heightens the cross musical borders nature of the songs in a different way to that offered by the electric line-up of the GF Band.
